The trip continued with a visit to Mt Sorak, with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. It was bliss, a moment of pure of contentment.



We also made our way to YongPyong Resort where I stepped on slushy snow 1450m above sea level.



A ferry ride to Nami Island brought us near to more mesmerizing views of nature.

Finally, the tour ended in Seoul and what I liked most in Seoul was a visit to the Philatelic Musuem, a haven for stamp lovers, a haven from the typical sights and bustling sounds of a city.

A holiday was badly needed after a tiring semester so Violet and I decided to go on a trip to Korea together.

 Jeju Island has always been a place I wanted to visit and it was truly a lovely place. To top it off, it was cherry blossoms season. What a bonus! :)



We swooned at the sight of the beautiful blue sea next to the lava rocks which formed the island.



As it was spring, there were lovely spring flowers blossoming practically everywhere and we were simply captivated by the fields of canola flowers which stretched for as far as the eyes could see.




To my delight, we also got to visit Teseum, a teddy bear musuem, in Jeju and were charmed by the many cuddly soft toys there.



After Jeju, we headed back to the main island and reveled at Everland. The beauty and the colours of the tulips at the Four Seasons Garden filled us with great delight.

Mum's birthday at The Fairmont

Mum requested for a birthday with a difference - we spent the night at the Fairmont. And she had definitely had a birthday with a difference - a skinny pizza for a birthday cake at lunch, a mini heart-shaped cake at the hotel and chinese shou tao on the actual birthday AND not forgetting a lovely hand-made birthday card by Phoebe and Asher.

Chinese New Year 2011

Chinese New Year traditionally starts with the family reunion dinner and then we would go visiting and welcome visitors. This year we also went to the River Hongbao. The JWC had a CNY lunch too.
